KELTATUWE, is a necklace based on an ancestral Mapuche pin, and has a welded hook pin behind the top plate. Its height is 28 cm. by 11 cm wide.
Used on occasions for Mapuche spiritual ceremonies.
It also serves as decoration with respect to our culture, and serves to keep our ancestral worldview alive and in force for more than 500 years.
The top plate represents a double-headed eagle with its wings spread and on its surface 2 facing hawks that are ancestral spirits that come down to earth to protect their people.
The original couple also hang from it, representing the duality of the Mapuche people. The chains is the space or union between heaven and earth, it is a cosmic scale that represents the knowledge and wisdom that must be constant in the Mapuche people.
The bottom plate is the land, dwelling place of the Mapuche people.
The hanging helical figures represent the number or composition of the Lof or community to which the Mapuche woman belongs.
